Your future responsibilities
We are currently seeking an expert to support our Integrated Photonics Technologies Research Unit with cutting-edge micro- and nanofabrication techniques and a specific focus on meeting the advanced demands and challenges associated with quantum devices. This role provides an exciting opportunity to collaborate within a small, motivated team to influence the evolution of quantum technology and propel its industrial application.
- Develop micro- and nanofabrication processes for photonic integrated circuits (PICs), particularly for quantum communication, sensing and computing applications, within our R&D clean room facility in close collaboration with process engineers.
- Participate in the complete design-fabrication-test cycle of PICs (while keeping the primary emphasis on the fabrication). This role includes assistance in establishing internal testing facilities, conducting data analysis, and offering feedback to designers.
- Contribute to the development of novel material platforms for photonics applications.
- Engage in, manage, and acquire new projects with industrial as well as academic partners.
- Comprehensively document and effectively communicate results towards internal and external stakeholders, funding agencies and the broader scientific community by means of presentations, reports, publications, and patents.
