Your future responsibilities
The Integrated Photonics Technologies (IPT) research unit is looking for an experienced researcher (3+ years post PhD) to take a leading role in the development of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) based on innovative material systems and technology. The successful candidate will manage project-related activities and actively contribute to the forthcoming of a multi-national research project.

- Design and development of photonic integrated circuits for datacom and sensing applications
- Lead or support the design of active components with the introduction of advanced thin film materials into innovative photonic platforms e.g. high-speed modulators
- Design and optimize passive photonic components for multiple photonic platforms e.g. LiN and AlN
- Collaborate with process engineers to develop fabrication processes for integrated photonic devices in an R&D cleanroom facility
- Lead or contribute to internal testing and data analysis to evaluate the performance of integrated photonic devices
- Collaborate with all other functional teams and research units in the organization to implement co-designed and co-optimized photonic systems
- Actively collaborate with the network of European project partners
- Scientific reporting, documentation, generation of new intellectual property including patent applications,
- Actively contribute to or lead the preparation of funding proposals
- Lead projects in collaboration with industry or academia
