Your future responsibilities
This position is part of the FAMES pilot line project, and the Master Thesis will focus on CMOS circulators using ferrite materials. The research will involve developing dielectric and magnetic layers for CMOS circulators using additive manufacturing techniques, primarily ultrasonic spray coating, aerosol jet printing, and screen printing.
 
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize coating/printing processes for dielectric and magnetic materials
  • Deposit and characterize dielectric / magnetic materials
  • Modify the flow characteristics of formulations  
  • Optimize the annealing process
  • Perform material (SEM, AFM, XRD), electrical, and magnetic characterization
  • Analyze and evaluate experimental data
  • Document findings and prepare reports
  • Contribute to scientific publications
Your profile
  • Enrolled in a master’s program in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Microsystems engineering or a related field, enrolled in an EU-university
  • Background or hands-on experience in material characterization/ Printed electronics / microfabrication/ or formulation techniques is an advantage
  • Data analysis and processing skills
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and comfortable working in a multicultural team environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA).  For this position, we offer a monthly gross salary of EUR 1.929, paid 14 times a year.
