The Power Electronics Team, located in Villach, is looking for motivated students to work alongside our scientists and research engineers on scientific paper contributions, lab setup preparation, and prototype and test setup construction for various scenarios.

- Explore the field of wide bandgap (WBG) devices and delve into device characterisation, modelling and simulation for power electronic devices and systems.
- Work with novel test setups to characterise power semiconductor devices and build multi-domain simulation models for power electronics.
- Improve state-of-the-art power electronics packaging and cooling technologies for active and passive components.
- Understand the packaging and fabrication aspects of power electronics assemblies, and work on novel mechanical solutions for improved packaging.
- Optimise power electronics converters by improving control algorithms and implementing real-time sensing options for condition monitoring of power electronics systems.
- Work on the electrical and mechanical design of next-generation power converters with power density and efficiency beyond the current state of the art.
