Your future responsibilities
As part of the DireQT project, we're developing an integrated platform for quantum information processing. We're looking for a motivated digital ASIC/MPSoC designer to help shape the next generation of quantum system-on-chip solutions.
As a junior Scientist at SAL your focus will lay on scientific work and methods. In Addition you will develop strong R&D skills.
Work in a collaborative, research-driven environment where your expertise will have real impact.

- Enable innovative solutions based on the most advanced MP-SoC platforms
- Designing digital circuits using FPGA technology and SoC (e.g.Zynq), including selecting the appropriate FPGA, designing the circuit architecture and coding the logic in a hardware description language (HDL) such as System Verilog, Verilog or VHDL
- Verifying the design and functionality of the digital circuits using simulation tools and perform tests on a physical FPGA board
- Creating and maintaining documentation for the FPGA design, including schematics, test plans and user manuals
- HDL coding for ASIC integration
- Developing and partitioning digital system architecture
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with other SW/HW developers to deliver integrated systems rapidly
- Support in project acquisition, funding proposals, and project management under guidance
- Conducts high-quality research with scientific rigor and output (e.g. publications, patents, conference presentations), contributing to project success and customer satisfaction
- Engages in scientific networking and visibility activities to strengthen SAL’s reputation and research excellence
