As a member of SAL’s Embedded Systems research team, you will push the boundaries of resilient and trustworthy AI in applied research projects, collaborating with industrial and scientific partners as well as colleagues across SAL units.

- Support applied research and development in areas such as advanced anomaly detection, out-of-control action planning, predictive maintenance algorithms, and automata learning.
- Contribute to the development of scalable, distributed AI and learning methods—including federated learning, federated distillation, and reinforcement learning—and apply these techniques across domains such as manufacturing, electronics, and energy, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and trustworthy AI practices.
- Conduct research, understand application contexts, identify suitable methods to solve challenges, and implement solutions with guidance from senior colleagues
- Present your results to colleagues and at conferences, publish research papers, and prepare reports, reviews, and summaries.
- Continuously develop your technical expertise and become a recognized expert in the field, with SAL providing support through training and development opportunities.
