Your future responsibilities

Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) is a leading research center at the forefront of electronic and software-based systems, driving innovation in key areas such as sensor systems, power electronics, and intelligent wireless technologies. To strengthen our Communications & Public Relations team, we are looking for a creative and strategic professional who is passionate about shaping our public presence, telling impactful stories, and supporting our mission to bridge cutting-edge research with industry and society.

Your responsibilities include:

Strategic Planning, Budget Responsibility & Mentorship
  • Define annual communication goals in alignment with corporate strategy and ensure consistent messaging across all channels
  • Plan and monitor the communication and marketing budget and ensure cost efficiency
  • Coordinate and organize communication initiatives with management and stakeholders  (public relations, social media, press conferences, other events…)  
  • Mentor team members and foster collaboration with other departments
     
External Communication & Content Management
  • Organize, plan and contribute to media and public relations activities, such as press releases, video production, interview preparation
  • Develop and manage content across multiple channels, including social media, newsletters, and websites
  • Create communication materials and presentation content, including flyers, brochures, annual reports and merchandise
  • Maintain and update website and content, including the SAL website and several project websites
Internal Communication
  • Coordinate and distribute internal newsletters and updates
  • Support the preparation and communication for company-wide meetings
  • Manage and maintain internal communication platforms and collaboration tools (e.g. intranet) 
Event Organization
  • Plan, organize and execute SAL events (internal & external)
  • Collaboration with our Business Development colleagues

Your profile

  • Min. 5 years of relevant professional experience in the field of PR and communications  
  • University degree in communications/marketing/PR or similar  
  • Distinct knowledge of the Austrian media landscape
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills  
  • You have a passion for language and copywriting, and your textual confidence allows you to break down complex content into easily understandable messages  
  • You are self-reliant, enjoy working in a team and share our fascination for new technologies and innovation

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group E. based on 38,5 hours per week). For this position we offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications, starting with a minimum gross salary of EUR 4.381,  paid 14 times a year, based on 38,5 hours per week.

At three locations (Graz, Villach, Linz), SAL is conducting research along the entire ESBS value chain in the areas of sensor systems, power electronics, intelligent wireless systems, microsystems and embedded systems to develop future-oriented solutions for industrial production, health, energy, mobility, safety and more.
