PhD Position (Junior Scientist) - Quantum based inertial sensing (f/m/d)

Your future responsibilities
​  
  • Work or spin-based quantum systems in wide-band gap semiconductors for inertial sensing applications  
  • Implementation of several quantum protocols for initialization and readout of nuclear spins   
  • Development of required magnetic, optical, electrical and RF subsystems  
  • Experimental work, proof of principle experiments, feasibility studies  
  • Final inertial sensing demonstration, data processing
  • Scientific dissemination (conference proceedings, journal papers, patents)
Your profile
   
  • Master’s degree in Physics with focus on optics, spectroscopy, semiconductors or atomic physics and related area of expertise   
  • Broad engineering interest with experience in prototyping  
  • Experience working with lab equipment, electronics and measurement devices  
  • Good programming knowledge in Python  
  • Proactive, Can-do attitude; Interested in technical science and open to work independently  
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, German is a plus
  • Familiar with Office tools (Word, Excel, …)

​This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group E.  For this position, we offer a monthly salary of EUR 3.274 ​based on 38.5 hours / week, paid 14 times a year.
